Privacy Policy

Last updated · June 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data ImmerGround (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you use the ImmerGround mobile and desktop application (the “Service”). The short version: we collect one anonymous identifier per install, and that identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information.

1. What we collect

We collect a single category of data, classified by Apple as Data Not Linked to You:

  • User ID — an anonymous identifier generated the first time the app launches on your device. It is a random string. It is not tied to your name, email, phone number, address, or any other personally identifying information.

The User ID is composed of two anonymous identifiers from our service providers:

  • Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous sign-in ID, used to attribute analytics events and crash reports to a single install without identifying who you are.
  • RevenueCat creates an anonymous subscription ID if you start a free trial or purchase a subscription, used to deliver and restore your subscription across your own devices.

2. What we do not collect

For clarity, ImmerGround does not collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or any other contact information.
  • The audio or video you record or play through the app. Your microphone input, audio files, and the video output ImmerGround renders all stay on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
  • Your precise or coarse location.
  • Your contacts, photos, calendar, or other personal libraries — except for the specific files you explicitly pick to use inside the app, which are processed locally on your device.
  • Your IP address (we do not log it on our servers — service providers may temporarily handle it as part of normal network operation).
  • Any data from other apps or websites.

3. How we use the User ID

  • Analytics — to understand which features are used and where the app crashes, so we can fix bugs and improve the Service.
  • App Functionality — to deliver, restore, and validate paid subscriptions through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat.

4. Third-party service providers

Two third parties process the User ID on our behalf:

  • Firebase (Google) — anonymous analytics and crash reporting. See Firebase's Privacy and Security policy.
  • RevenueCat — subscription state management. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Payments are handled by Apple's App Store. We never see your credit card or banking details.

5. Data retention

Anonymous analytics events are retained by Firebase according to its default retention settings. RevenueCat retains your subscription state for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and support purposes. You can reset your User ID at any time by deleting and reinstalling the app.

6. Your rights

Because we do not collect personally identifying information, we cannot link the User ID back to you on request. To remove the analytics events associated with your install, delete the app from your device. If you have an active subscription and need help managing or cancelling it, contact us — or manage it directly in your App Store account settings.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
